Bunker Rats - Privacy Notice
Last updated: August 28, 2026
Bunker Rats is developed and operated by Perrone, an independent game developer based in the United States (“Perrone,” “I,” “me,” or “my”). This notice explains what information Bunker Rats collects, why it is used, how long it is retained, and the choices available to players.

- The related lobby or raid
- Moderation decisions, reasons, durations, and review notes
- Security events involving rejected movement, combat, loot, profile, or settlement requests
- Administrative profile changes and the reason entered for each change
Technical information
Standard server, proxy, and security logs may temporarily contain technical connection information such as:
- IP address
- Request time
- Requested server route
- Response status
- General error and diagnostic information
This information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the service. Bunker Rats does not use this information for advertising or cross-service tracking.
Local settings
Display, audio, control, keybinding, and similar preferences are generally stored locally on your device. Steam may separately synchronize certain information according to your Steam settings and Valve’s policies.
2. VOICE CHAT
Bunker Rats uses Steam’s voice and networking services for proximity voice chat.
Voice audio is transmitted during gameplay so nearby players can hear it. Bunker Rats does not intentionally record or centrally store voice conversations. Moderation records may show that a voice restriction was issued, but they do not contain a recording of the conversation.
Other players may independently record gameplay or voice using Steam recording, streaming software, or other tools. Bunker Rats does not control recordings made by other players.
3. HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Information is used to:
- Authenticate players through Steam
- Create and maintain player profiles
- Save progression, inventory, unlocks, and statistics
- Operate multiplayer lobbies and raids
- Process extraction results and rewards
- Support reconnects and host transfers
- Display names, avatars, Bunker Cards, and achievements
- Prevent item duplication, impossible progression, and other abuse
- Investigate reports, cheating, harassment, exploits, and technical problems
- Apply and review multiplayer or voice restrictions
- Respond to support and privacy requests
- Maintain the security and reliability of the service
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
Bunker Rats uses automated rules to validate profile changes, raid outcomes, movement, combat, and loot activity. Invalid requests may be rejected or recorded for review. These automated checks do not automatically issue permanent bans. Moderation action is reviewed and applied through administrative tools.
Where applicable, this processing is based on providing the game service requested by the player, protecting the legitimate interests of the game and its community, complying with legal obligations, and responding to communications voluntarily submitted by the player.
4. HOW INFORMATION IS SHARED
Information may be shared with or processed by:
- Valve Corporation and Steam, for authentication, networking, lobbies, voice, achievements, and platform services
- Hosting and infrastructure providers used to operate the Bunker Rats API, database, backups, and security systems
- Other players, when information such as your Steam name, avatar, lobby presence, Bunker Card, gameplay actions, or voice communication is part of multiplayer gameplay
- Government authorities or other parties when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect players, the service, or legal rights
Bunker Rats does not sell personal information.
Bunker Rats does not use personal information for targeted advertising or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. DATA RETENTION
Bunker Rats limits the retention of temporary authentication and security records where practical.
Current retention periods include:
- One-time session-lease replay records: deleted after approximately 15 minutes
- Session leases: deleted after they have been expired or redeemed for approximately 24 hours
- Authentication sessions: deleted after they have been expired or revoked for approximately 7 days
- General request replay and duplicate-prevention records: approximately 7 days
- Raid settlement replay records: approximately 90 days
- General administrative and security audit records: approximately 90 days
- Resolved player reports: approximately 180 days after review
- Open player reports: retained until reviewed or otherwise resolved
- Expired or revoked moderation actions: approximately 1 year
- Active moderation actions: retained while the action remains necessary
- Resolved security events: approximately 180 days after review
- Unresolved security events: no longer than approximately 1 year under the normal retention process
Player profiles, progression, inventory, gameplay history, and related records may be retained while the Bunker Rats service operates or until a valid deletion request is completed. Some information may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, enforce restrictions, maintain transaction integrity, or comply with legal obligations.
Support and privacy-request messages are retained while the request is being handled and afterward only as long as reasonably necessary for follow-up, security, recordkeeping, or legal obligations.
If backup copies contain information that is later removed from the active database, those copies may remain for a limited period until they are removed through the normal backup-retention cycle. Backup copies are not used for ordinary gameplay.
6. SECURITY
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect player information. These include encrypted network connections, restricted administrative access, hashed authentication tokens, server-side validation, audit records, and access controls on the production database.
No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Players should never send a Steam password, Steam Guard code, authentication ticket, database credential, or other secret through the game or contact form.
7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information associated with you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your profile and personal information
- Request restriction of certain processing
- Object to certain uses of your information
- Request a portable copy of applicable information
- Lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live
These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. Information needed to protect other players, enforce an active restriction, prevent fraud, maintain transaction integrity, or comply with law may not be deleted immediately.
Deleting a Bunker Rats profile may permanently remove progression, inventory, unlocks, statistics, and other saved game data. Deleted progression may not be recoverable.
Before fulfilling a request, additional information may be required to verify that the requester controls the Steam account concerned.
