I run perr.one as a personal website for sharing projects, posts, notes, and useful links. I try to collect as little information as possible.
Analytics
This site uses Umami to understand general traffic and see which pages people find useful.
Analytics can include pages visited, referring websites, browser and operating system, screen size, language, approximate location, and visit times. Search terms and URL fragments are excluded from the URLs sent to analytics.
Umami does not use analytics cookies or track visitors across different websites. I do not use analytics for advertising or connect visits to contact-form names and email addresses.
Contact messages
If you use the contact form, I store the subject, message, selected topic, submission time, and any name or reply email address you provide. Your name and email address are optional. Messages are kept in the site's private inbox and are not published on the site.
I use this information to read, manage, and respond to your message. Messages remain until I delete them, and copies may be included in site backups.
Server and security information
The hosting infrastructure receives technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time.
Server and security records may include IP addresses to help prevent spam and abuse. These records are separate from analytics and may also be included in backups.
Your choices
This site respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. When your browser sends either signal, analytics are not loaded. You can also block analytics with a browser extension without affecting access to the site.
You can use the contact form to ask about privacy or request deletion of a message you sent. Please provide enough information to identify the message. Deleted messages may remain in existing backups until those backups are replaced or removed.
Analytics records are not linked to your name or email address, so I may not be able to identify a particular visit.
